原作は言わずと知れた傑作。アニメ化も作品世界の雰囲気を汚さない仕上がりになっていると思う。 声優・中田浩二はハマリ役で、城達也によるナレーションも良い。忍び世界では絶対に許されない抜忍。組織から追われる抜忍カムイが生き抜く様を描く。劇中、人の暖かさ触れたと思いきや、裏切られ失望を繰り返す、それでもカムイは今日も生きてゆく…。最近のなまぬるいアニメなど比べものにならない程、シリアスでそしてヒューマニズム溢れる傑作アニメ。

　今日もまた太陽は昇り、川は流れる。
　忍びの世界には何びとも犯すことの出来ない掟がある。
　その掟を破るものには、死、あるのみ。
　だが、ここに一人の男があった。
　太陽のきらめきも月光の聡明も一瞬、死の伴奏と変わるその定めを、
　自ら選び貫いてゆくもの、カムイ、忍者カムイ。

　うーん、いいナレーションだ。

　カムイ外伝は、ただの忍者ものではない。
カムイはすっごーいかっこいいし、ナレーションは決まってるし、主題歌も力が入っている。古い作品ではあるが戦闘シーンはスピード感あふれ、墨絵のような絵も非常に美しい。

　ＴＶオンエア版ではぼかしているが、カムイがなぜ忍になったか、そしてなぜ抜け忍となったか。

　その哀しみが見れば見るほど胸にしみる。
中田浩二のしぶい声がまた、ぴったりでじーんとくる(ほれぼれ・・)。

　時にはひとを信じることができず、無関係の人々をただ見殺しにし、また、ようやく信じたひとから裏切られ、絶望の淵に沈むカムイ。

　殺したくはないと叫びながら、殺さねば生きていけない運命を負ってしまったカムイの哀しみを誰も共有できず、彼はひとりで去ってゆく。
　いつもたったひとりで。

　おそらくは、微妙な差別問題ゆえに、再版されていないのだと思うが、差別の痛みを知るためにこそぜひ広く世間に知らしめてほしい作品。

　ぜひＤＶＤ ＢＯＸとして売り出してほしい。
