   第二次世界大戦直後のシチリア島。村唯一の娯楽は、映画館『パラディソ座』だった。映画の魅力にとりつかれた少年トトと、彼が父代わりに慕った映画技師アルフレードとの心のふれあいの物語だ。
   2作目の本作で89年アカデミー外国語映画賞を受賞したジュゼッペ・トルナトーレ監督は、シチリア島の出身である。イタリア南部が抱える貧困の問題を絡めながら、底抜けに明るいシチリア人のふるまいをユーモラスに映している。音楽は『ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム・イン・アメリカ』や『海の上のピアニスト』などで有名なエンニオ・モリコーネが担当。随所に流れるテーマ曲のメロディラインは、見るものの心を感動の世界で包み込んでくれる。

私にとって人生最高の映画のひとつ。
ラストシーンは何度観ても涙がこぼれてきます。
私は完全版とオリジナル版の両方を持っていますが、やはりお勧めしたいのはオリジナル版。
オリジナル版の方が、ラストシーンが印象的に感じられます。
まだ観たことのない方は、是非ご覧になって「人」を愛することの素晴らしさを感じて欲しいと思います。

　感動する映画です。初めてこの作品を見たときのラストシーンの鮮烈な印象は、いつまでも記憶に残っています。音楽も素晴らしかった。

　劇場公開版と完全版があるようですが、私は劇場公開版の方が好きです。劇場公開版では唐突と思われたシーンも、完全版を見ると自然な流れで、「ああ、それで」と納得できる部分が多々あります。しかし、ラストシーンンがより鮮やかに感じられるのは、劇場公開版であると思います。

内容については他の方が色々書かれているので割愛しますが、
私は両方見た経験上、オリジナル版の方をお勧めします。
完全版だと少しくどいなと感じます。オリジナル版は2時間程度で見られるますし・・・
