３０代の方にとっては、忘れられない一曲です。チェッカーズの髪型もこのころはやりました。それはさておき、いまでも聞けるいい曲です。

オリコン　最高位１位（３週）　５１．６万枚　を記録。年間ランキングは５位の大ヒット。
ザ・ベストテンは最高位１位（６週連続）で、年間ベストテンは４位の大ヒット。
初主演映画「ＴＡＮ　ＴＡＮ　たぬき」の主題歌。
フジテレビ「夕やけニャンニャン」のオープニングテーマでもあった。
ＳＥが入ったＶｅｒｓｉｏｎが映画のサントラ盤に収録されている。
オリジナルアルバムには未収録であるが、歌詞を変えた「スキャンダル魔都」という曲が、１９８５年８月に発売されたアルバム「毎日！チェッカーズ」に収録されている。
大ヒット曲で、映画主題歌でチェッカーズの代表曲でもありながら、チェッカーズが活動中に出したベストアルバムには収録されなかった。
テレビではチベット風の衣装で歌った。
ライブでメニューに組まれることは少なく、１９８５年の春夏のみだった。その後は藤井フミヤの２１世紀カウントダウンライブにて歌われた。
