キュート・ビート・クラブ・バンド名義の１２インチシングル「７つの海の地球儀」と同時発売だった。
ＴＢＳ「世界ふしぎ発見」のエンディングテーマだった。
オリコン　最高位２位　１４．９万枚　を記録。
ザ・ベストテンでは最高位５位までしか上がらなかった。この曲までベスト３入りしなかったのはデビュー曲の「ギザギザハートの子守唄」の５位のみで、「ＯＨ！！ＰＯＰＳＴＡＲ」の２位以外はすべて１位を獲得していた為に衝撃的な結果だった。
オリコンとザ・ベストテンともに「７つの海の地球儀」も同時ランクインした。
１９８８年のアルバム「ＳＣＲＥＷ」にＣＤのみのボーナストラックとして最後に収録された。
ライブのセットリストには１９８７年冬、１９８８年冬、１９９２年夏とあまり歌われていない。
２００２年の藤井フミヤと藤井尚之のファンクラブイベントで久々に歌われた。２００８年に２５周年で再始動したＦ−ＢＬＯＯＤのライブでも全会場では無いが、メニューに入れられた。
