この映画はとにかく感動の一言です！特に後半は涙がとまりませんでした。「死」について、今までには無い考え方を教えてくれました。こういう感じ方もあったんだ、と、感心しました。愛する者の死は悲しいものですが、愛は死をも乗り越えられると感じさせてくれる、素晴らしい映画です。美しい田園風景や全体の厳かな雰囲気とアンソニーホプキンスの演技が、さらにこの映画を忘れられない魅力的なものにしています。

美しいイングランドの景色の中に描かれる大人の愛のドラマです。ホプキンス、ウインガーの抑制された演技が、この作品に深さと厳しさを与えています。人を想う気持ちが強ければ強いほど、喪失感も大きい。それを知りながら愛さずにはいられない人間とは何と不思議な存在でしょう。「経験とは残酷な教師」「今の悲しみはあのときの幸福の一部」など、語られている台詞が痛いほど心に残ります。もとは舞台劇だっただけあって、練り上げられた言葉の数々が素晴らしい。その中でも特にきらりと光った言葉、それはホプキンスが終盤でいう一言「僕もだ」このひとことを言うことが、彼にとってどれほどたいへんなことだったか。この場面のホプキンスの演技は、うーん、参りました。この作品を泣ける映画、という範疇には入れたくありませんが、正直いって泣きました。DVDが無いのが残念。発売を切にお願いします。

マディソン群の橋が流行った頃の作品ですが、ズバ抜けてます。実話の上に戯曲化されていて、台詞が断然に洗練されています。そして、俳優女優はいぶし銀、背景は最高。落ち着いた大人の時間が楽しめます。
羊たちの沈黙や愛旅とは隔絶された演技の本質が理解されます。
ストーリーは、マディソンでは飽きて寝てしまいましたが、こちらは、ひきこまれました。良い作品です。
