　1994年発表のミニ・アルバム。意外にも、ミニ・アルバムはバンド史上初である。あまりの演奏の上手さに、どう聴いてもスタジオ録音にしか聞こえないが、実はスタジオ・ライヴである。しかしご安心あれ、拍手とかギャラリーの声などは一切入っていない。「一発録り」なだけで、ほぼスタジオ録音と言って差し支えないだろう。ライヴ演奏にこだわりを持つCrimsonらしい作品、と言ったところか。

　続くフルレンス・アルバム「THRAK」の予告編ということもあり、曲はかなりの部分が重複している。1, 2, 4, 6 が「THRAK」にも収録されている。このため、「THRAK」を買ってしまうと、あまり「VROOOM」を買う人はいないようだが、それはちょっと勿体ない。特にインスト2曲は、大人しくまとめられた「THRAK」ヴァージョンよりも尖っっていて、こっちの方が面白い。

　また、フルレンス未収録2曲のうち、「Cage」という曲は、長さがたった1分35秒しかないのに、強烈に印象に残る。♪Living in the cage of USA（アメリカの檻に住んでる）と歌う曲で、ラップ顔負けの早口言葉のような歌。それこそあっという間に終わってしまうのだが、とにかく面白い。街中でしょっちゅう撃ち合いが起きる、狂った国家「アメリカ」を巨大な檻に例えた歌詞で、実に風刺が効いている。このミニ・アルバムでしか聴けないので、是非、一度お試しいただきたい。

　「THRAK」にも同じ曲が収録されているが（録音は別）、6.「One Time」は久々に叙情的で良い曲であることも、付け加えておこう。

１９９４年発表、ダブルトリオによる新生クリムゾンのミニアルバム。次作「スラック」の美味しいところがギュッと詰まっている好盤。「スラック」よりも音が分厚いし、なんたって全６曲！非常に聴きやすい。これぞダブルトリオの持ち味発揮！！的オールドクリムゾンファンでも聴ける？アルバム。次作「スラック」にはないパワーとメタリックな音には「レッド」期のクリムゾンを彷彿させる。「スラック」なくてもいいじゃんと思うのは自分だけでかも。
ちなみに、３曲目、５曲目は「スラック」未収録。（またいいんだ、この２曲が、、、特に）

ツイン・ギター、ツイン・スティック＋ツイン・ドラムスというバンド内に二組の３人構成バンドを同時に内包するというダブル・トリオ編成のアイデアが用いられている。両バンドが同時に演奏することにより、音の重量感やダイナミズムなど迫力の増した”音”が創り出されている。「レッド」を彷彿するメタリックでヘヴィーなサウンド。１９９４年、キング・クリムゾンが復活を告げた作品。ロバート・フリップの衰えぬ情熱に触れるだけでも感激できる。
