名作・古畑任三郎のパート２のサントラ。
パート１から３まででそれぞれサントラが発売されているが、これが一番オススメ。
捜査時・犯人を追い詰めるとき・今泉がふざけてるときなどの曲がバランスよく配置されている。
特に#9の「罠」は必聴。

古畑任三郎、あのドラマが高い視聴率を捕ったのは、もちろん俳優である田村正和の役のはまりどのおかげであろうが、BGMも大きな役割を果たしているのに違いない。多くのドラマがオープニングやエンディングに歌手の歌を入れる中、このドラマだけは、最初から最後までオリジナルの曲にこだわった。

「あの場面の、あの曲か・・・。」というように、聞いていると色々なシーンが蘇るのである。曲は、オーケストラか、心弾ませるJAZZである。オーケストラはよく効くのだが、このJAZZがなかなか正当な者で、単なるBGMとしては片付けられないものがある。

事件中の曲が多く、おどろおどろしさや緊張感が醸し出されています。
「フランス式指電卓」の様な落ち着いた感じのものや「偽証」の様な
今泉くんがおどけた場面などで流れる曲もあり、
主題のＯＰとＥＤも無論健在。
このドラマが好きな人になら勧められる一品だ。
