８０年代のカシオペアのような切れ、緊張感、軽快さ、スピード感など失せてしまっているが、以前との比較は一応カッコに入れておいて、これはこれ、として聞いてみる分には、決して悪い演奏ではない。Looking Upの演奏には賛否両論あるかもしれないけれど、まぁ、新曲として聞けばそれなりに評価できると思う。でもなんでこの中にZoomがないんだろう？

~　カシオペアに二つの時代があるとすれば、成瀬加入以前と以後に分けられることはファンなら誰もが認めるところだと思う。成瀬加入後最初の頃のアルバムはどうにもベースが目立ちすぎて一つのサウンドになりきっていないと感じたものだ。しかしこのCDでは４人のサウンドがしっくりまとまって耳に入ってくる。現在のカシオペアのサウンドの完成したアルバム。昔~~の音が好きだという人も多いと思うが、四半世紀もやってれば変化する方が自然だろうし。これは想像だけど、演奏してる本人たちも昔の自分に対する決別という意味を込めているんじゃないかという気がする。実際最近のライブで昔の曲をやるときはこのアルバムのアレンジをベースにしているし。

　選曲はまさに前期カシオペアのベストといえるほど名曲ぞろい。Mid-Manhattanがないのは残念だがこの時はドラムが神保氏じゃなかったし仕方がないか。
　昔のカシオペアが好きな人で、今のライブに行きたいなと思ってる人はぜひこのアルバムを聞いてみてほしい。~

過去の名曲を全曲オール・リメイク！ベストアルバムやセルフカバーは得意のカシオペア。昔の彼らに愛着のあるファンは、新しいアレンジに違和感があるかも知れません。しかし、本作では、全てが新しい「新生カシオペア」の魅力を思いっきり楽しみましょうよ！
