5.0 out of 5 stars 最後に辿りつく、BONNIEの最高傑作。, 2003/4/30
　音そのものは全アルバム中最もシンプルだが(実は細かいアレンジにより洗練されている）、
それだけに彼女の非凡な才能と内面が開花した最高傑作。
　彼女自身の恋愛から生まれた歌詞が、ここではもっと人間として普遍的なものへと昇華する瞬間を
体験できる。ヴォーカルの表現力も切なさ・繊細な心情が感じられて素晴しい。
　個人的には、「Fallen Sun」が終わり、最後の「evil & Flowers」が始まる瞬間のinterlludeの部分が、
苦悩から希望へと通じる光を感じさせて聴くたびに胸を突かれる。
　人生の最後の瞬間に一枚だけ聴いていいとしたら、このアルバムを選ぶと思う。

　赤い髪で流暢な英語で歌うオシャレな女の子、bonnie pinkの3rd albumです。

　スウィーデン・ポップの巨匠、tore johanssonとのコラボ作品第二弾てことで、北欧を思わせるヒンヤリとした肌触りのような空気感を醸し出しつつ、スウィーデン・ポップな感じも忘れてないです。
　で彼女本人の日本人離れしたグッドメロディセンスが光るナイスコラボレイションって感じです。

　こういうアルバムを聞いて思うのは、本当最近のj-popの大袈裟アレンジや大袈裟プロデュースによって、本来のメロディーとか曲の本質の部分が曇ってしまうんじゃないかってこと。
　だってこのアルバム、こんなにシンプルでいてとても美しいでしょ〜。
　バックの演奏は無駄を削ったことで軽やかなリズムとグルーブを生み出していると思います。

　歌詞は恋愛のことが多いようで。女の子の生き方みたいのも歌ってる感じがします。
　全曲が素晴らしいねぇ。大好きなアルバム。
　ベタボメです。本当名盤だと思うよ。

シュールな音楽、というのが一番合う。メロディーも、一つ一つの曲の雰囲気も、これといった固定観念や妙なポリシーに縛られず、自由に音楽を作り出した結果といった感じ。
特に表題作「evil and flowers」をはじめ全ての曲が、日本人離れした音楽センスの生み出した逸品といえると思う。日本の曲は好きだけど洋楽のようなセンスを感じない、という人の欲求は、これで見事に満たされるでしょう。
