オリジナルは１９９２年１０月発売、フル・アルバムとしては２作目。プロデュースはパール兄弟のギタリスト窪田晴男氏。ベストアルバムに収録されていないのが不思議な名曲でライヴでもおなじみだった「いい言葉ちょうだい」から始まり、これまた超の付く名曲「なんてったの」や「頼りない天使」やシングルとは若干歌詞違いの「１００ミリちょっとの」や、ギターの小嶋さん作「土曜日の夜」と、印象的なナンバーを挟みながらも、全体としては結構安直な表現だけど「おもちゃ箱をひっくり返した」そんな印象。あとダブの手法を取り入れた曲が目立つのも特徴的だけど、後の楽曲の中に絶妙に溶け込んで血肉化している様な姿を知るものとしてはまだ「借りてきた」段階の稚拙な印象もあり、もしポリドール時代の作品からフィッシュマンズを知った方だったらオリジナル・アルバムとしては一番最後に聴いてもいいのかな、という気もするんですが。それでもなお、自分がこの異様に取っ散らかったアルバムに愛着を抱くのは、結局このアルバムを出た当時にひたすら聴いていたからで、なんかあの当時の「気分」ってこんな雰囲気だったんですな。なんか痛い愛着感、とでも申しますか（笑）。

　とにかくバラエティに富んだアルバム。後の彼らを知る人にとっては？な曲がとにかく多い。いかにもお遊び風な数秒で終わる曲とか中途半端なロック･ナンバー、音の響きの面白さだけに引きずられたようなインスト･ナンバー等未消化な部分も多いので、トータル的な完成度から言うと決して高くはないし、バランスにも欠けている。

　しかし、しかしだ。いくつもの名曲がこのアルバムには収録されている。特にレゲエ~ダブに徹した曲はほとんどが名曲といっていいぐらいで、冒頭の｢いい言葉をちょうだい｣や｢なんてったの｣｢土曜日の夜｣あたりはその後の名曲群と比較しても全くひけをとらないと思う。極めつけは｢頼りない天使｣。これはもうフィッシュマンズの全曲中5本の指に入る名曲だと断言したい!。ポリドール時代のような圧巻な音作りではないものの、シンプル且つ効果的なダブ処理が効いたとても美しいナンバーだと思う。又、シングルになった｢100ミリちょっとの｣も後の彼らからは想像もつかないポップ･ソングだけどとっても良い曲。初期の彼らにはこういう何気ない普通の、そして良質なポップスを聞かせてくれる部分もあったんだなぁ~と感慨深くなった。これもやっぱりはずせない一枚であることは間違いない。

フィシュマンズのアルバムの中でもかなり意外な作品にも思えるが中にはフィッシュマンズを代表する名曲が数曲収録されており彼らがバンドブーム時代に乗りつつも彼らのあの浮遊感が生まれ始めた作品ではないでしょうか。完成度としてはポリドール時代のものと比べると完璧ではないがどこか若さを感じることができて面白い仕上がりになっていると思います。
