このベストアルバムの発売は９３年で、ちょうど大ヒットナンバー「部屋とＴシャツと私」を出した後、セールス上では彼女の全盛期の頃に当たります。しかし、逆に異色作とも言える「部屋とＴシャツと私」が大ヒットしてしまったために、この曲のイメージが彼女そのものになってしまったような気がします。
もちろん、このアルバムを聴いていると決してそうではないことに気がつくのですが、彼女の甘い歌声はそれほど「部屋と･･･」にぴったりと来るものでした。また、ここでの初期のナンバー等を聴くと、さまざまなモチーフで歌を表現しようとしていることがわかります。

そして、その後の彼女は、清水信之のアレンジによって大きく成長したと言われていますが、それは、むしろ彼女自身の心境の変化が曲作りにプラスに作用したという思いがします。たとえば、清水氏との第１作「月のランプ」や「素敵なルネッサンス」などを聴けば、その頃の彼女の充実した様子がこちらに伝わってくるような気がします。

このアルバムでは、曲順が中間に初期のナンバーを入れるなど、どこかバラバラっぽい印象があるため、彼女の軌跡や心境の変化を知るうえでも、できれば曲順は発表順にしておいて欲しかったように感じました。
あと、彼女は、実は私の地元、神戸に無くてはならないシンガーでもあるのです。くわしくはwikiを見ていただきたいのですが、私は彼女の歌にこめた気持ちを大いに尊重してあげたいと考えます。

どの曲もテンポが良い良作ばかり、
『当たり』がほとんどを占めるアルバム

当時、大ヒットした部屋とＹシャツと私なども入っているが、
それ以外の曲が良い。

古いアルバムなので、たまに引き出して聞く位だが、
今の曲とは傾向が違うので逆に新鮮味も感じる。
特にマイセレナーデがリズムも良いしオススメだ。
車のＣＭか何かに使われたハズ。

実際に擦り切れて再生不能となったので、同じものをもう一枚買いました（笑）。
このアルバムを形容する最適な言葉は、私のような凡人にはとても思い付きません。
それほど極めて完成度の高い一枚でありましょう。ただ、オリジナルではなく、
あくまでもベスト盤なので、あえて星４つとさせて頂きましたが。

1992年｢部屋とＹシャツと私｣｢マイセレナーデ｣｢もう笑うしかない｣と立て続けに
平松ワールド全開のシングルを連発し、次はどんな凄いのが来るのか？と
半年間も首を長くし、待ちに待ってリリースされたシングルが｢Single is Best｣
であります。これ、初めて聞いたとき、｢部屋と〜｣並みの衝撃を受けました。

サビの部分に有名（？）な一節
｢♪悲しみをバネにして　幸せを羽根に飛べる頃　ピンチはチャンスだったと｣
が有るんですが、日本語でここまで韻を踏んでかつ対比の表現が出来るのかと、
当時はえらくブッたまげた思い出があります。正直、この頃の彼女には
こういう言葉がポンポン飛び出るくらい、本当に神が乗り移ったと思える
くらいのパワーが有りました。彼女の頂点を極めた一枚、ぜひ多くの方に
聞いて頂きたいと思います。中古CD屋の定番アイテムでもありますので、
ささ、在庫のある内にお買い求めはお早めに（笑）

ただ、こう言っては熱心なファンの方々のお叱りを受けるかも知れませんが、
1992〜1993年の平松愛理が神過ぎたので、その後のアルバムが平凡に聞こえて
しまうんですよ。彼女が結婚されて、精神的に大きな変化が有ったのも
一因でしょうが。

背景を考えると、TheBeatlesの｢サージェントペパーズ〜｣に相当する一枚
だと思います。
