「少女は…」の組曲は、浩子さんの作詞によるのではなく、吉原幸子さんという詩人の方によって作られた既存の詩に浩子さんがメロディーをつけ、自分で歌って、アルバムに収録したものです。もちろん、浩子さんがその詩と感覚を共有し、自分のアルバムの中に入れたいという気持ちを持ったからそうしたのであり、みごとに「同化」できていると私は思います。

あと、シングル盤で先に発売された「BLUE BLUE BLUE」、「メリー・メリー・ゴーラウンド」や、ＮＨＫみんなのうたで浩子さんを一躍有名にした「恋するニワトリ」も、このアルバムに収められています。

谷山浩子さんの作品は２つの側面から構成されていると思います．ひとつは女性としての気持ちを曲に描き表したパート，もうひとつは童話を読んでいるような空想世界の住人としてのパートです．このアルバムも最初の７曲は前者，後半の７曲は後者の性格を持つ曲で構成されています．個人的には前半の残響の多い透明感のある曲がとても好きです．

声だけで自分の世界を構築できる貴重なシンガー。このアルバムは歌詞が非常に重要な位置を占める。アレンジはかなり歌詞世界に肉迫しており好感が持てる。ファンタジックな面とホラーチックな側面が交錯する歌うべきものをきちんととらえているアルバム。寝る前には聞かないように。　　　　　　１０点中９点
