このアルバムの中にある「リカちゃんのポケット」という曲。子供から大人まで人気の、“あの人形”をモデルにした可愛い曲かと思いきや、おもいっきり変~な演奏、変な歌詞。しかし、この歌詞って実はとても深い。曲が作られたのはずっと前な筈なのに、なんだかこの「リカちゃん」が現代の、夜の街をうろつく少女達の姿と重なって仕方がない（心の闇をソフトにつついているというか…）古いんだけれど、古くない。不思議な曲です。　
このアルバムは浩子さんとしてもとてもうまくいったアルバムだそうですので、オススメです。

浩子さんの歌は、この頃から暗示的というか、何について歌っている
のか、ちょっと聴いただけではわかりにくい感じになっていきます。
想像しながら聞くのが、また楽しいような感じなのです。

この「たんぽぽサラダ」の中には「地上の星座」という歌があります。
街の灯りを星に見たてる歌ですが、中島みゆきさんの「地上の星」と

比べてみるのも一興かと思います。浩子さんとみゆきさんとは親しい
間柄であり、みゆきさんは「地上の星座」も知っているかと思いますが、
同じ対象を歌って、こうも違うかなどとも思います。

このＣＤは昔学生の頃、友達とレンタルショップに行って借りて聞いたのが最初でした。
もう他のＣＤで谷山浩子さんの歌の魅力は知っていましたが、このＣＤの中の、
『悪魔の絵本の歌』がそれまでで一番谷山さんの歌の魅力を感じました。
