   10歳の田舎娘サジが、都会パリにやってきた。ザジの願いは地下鉄に乗ること。しかし、あいにく地下鉄はストの真っ最中だった。
   ザジ（カトリーヌ・ドモンジョ）が大人たちを翻弄させながらパリ中を駆けめぐる、どたばた喜劇。映像編集と道具を用いた巧みな演出、笑いを誘うせりふなどが随所に散りばめられ、ザジの初めてのパリ訪問に心おどる様子がいきいきと表現されている。
   監督は、ヌーベル・バーグの草分け的存在ルイ・マル。彼の作品『死刑台のエレベーター』『恋人たち』を観たことのある人は、本作でルイ・マルのマルチな才能に驚かされるに違いない。（齋藤リエ）

「死刑台のエレベーター」の巨匠ルイ・マル監督のはちゃめちゃワールド。途中、ついて行けなくなる人もいるかも（笑）ちょっとドラッグっぽい「わけわかんない世界」が展開されます。でもそこがこの映画の魅力。お洒落なフランスの街を舞台にザジ子とおかしな登場人物たちが追いかけっコ・・・なんとも言えないレトロ感は、まるでフランスの４コマ漫画のつなぎ合わせのようにお洒落。Fiorenzo Carpiの音楽も素晴しく効果的に使われている。あれほどはちゃめちゃなのに、観終ったあと妙にスッキリ・・・さすが巨匠の作品。今日もどこかでザジ子があの調子でかけっコしていそうな気がする（笑）

一見おしゃれで小粋なフランス映画っぽいこの作品、
実はかなりの「くせもの」映画です。常識でこの映画を
見てはいけません。ただたんに楽しもうと思えば、それで○です。
「なにこの映画」と思っているうちにはまっていること、うけあいです。

私にとってフィリップ・ノワレといえば、『ニューシネマパラダイス』よりも断然これです！

作り自体がとてもキュートな映画です。何度観ても楽しめます。ラストのドタバタシーンでのオチの付け方だけが少し残念ですが。

今発売されているトールケースよりも、こっちの超キュートなジャケットデザインにふさわしいジュエルケースでもっていたい宝物。
