　地味だが「体育館は踊る」が最高。文化祭の一日を早朝から時間軸で歌っていく。クライマックスのフォークダンスでは、あと一人で憧れの人と踊れるというところで音楽が終わる。がっかりする女の子は、どこのクラスにもいそうな、ごく普通の女子高生…。これをストリングスだけの伴奏で歌うからたまらない。
　８０年代アイドルポップスの最高峰と言ってもよい。

武部＆斉藤コンビがようやく明確なコンセプトの元に作り上げたアルバム。ビジュアルワークも含め、初めて何を創りたいかというイメージとメッセージが伝わる実に丁寧な創りの作品です。８０年代後半の歌謡曲のアルバム中でもベスト１０に入るくらいのレベルでしょう。とりわけ10「眠り姫」が出色。8「砂の城」も良く出来た名曲です。この勢いが同じ年に「リプル」というさらなるコンセプトワークを見せてくれます。

20数年前に国民的アイドルとして多くの支持を集めていた斉藤由貴の4枚目のアルバム。優秀な曲が多く、このアルバムが現代において普遍性をもって聴かれていないとすれば非常にもったいない。現在の槇原敬之の女性版といったところか…。

このアルバムを聞くたび、なぜ「Side Seat」がシングルカットされなかったのかもったいないなあと思うのでした。
