ご本人が一番好きだった曲も収められている、岡崎律子さんのファーストアルバム。私の一押しは六曲目の曲「幸せになろう」。年上の女性に対して使うには、少々気恥ずかしい感もあるが、この人、すごく可愛い女性だなぁって、そんな風に思わせてくれる曲。一曲の中に、落ち込む発端から立ち直りまでが全て描かれているのが凄い。最後には、主人公と一緒にちゃんと前を向かせてくれた。岡崎律子さんは、今年の五月に亡くなった。彼女の歌を、もう誰も生で聞くことが出来ないことは悲しい。ＣＤが、発売されないのも残念だ。だが、岡崎律子という、普通に恋も、仕事もしていた、普通の女性が亡くなったこと。そのこと自体が、一番、悲しくて、悔しくてたまらない。

そもそも他アーティストへの楽曲提供で活躍していた彼女の、シンガーとしてのデビューアルバムがこれです。消え入りそうなウィスパーヴォイスが魅力の彼女には、パワーこそないものの凛とした強さが一貫して感じられます。自らの手による楽曲も、自分の声を活かせる作品を揃えることに成功しています。風にまぎれて届いてくるような優しいタッチの歌声。しかし決して軟弱にならない確固たる意思を感じることが出来るはずです。彼女の入門盤としても好盤だと思います。

　岡崎さんの1枚目のアルバムです。優しくささやきかける，特徴のある歌声がよく表れています。また，コーラスの美しさも，ほぼ完成されつつあるといえましょう。
　全体的に恋愛の歌が多く，柔らかでふんわりした雰囲気に満ちています。曲が流れている空間が，まるで淡いシャボン玉で包まれているかのように，穏やかになる気がします。
　お薦めは，ご本人が一番好きと仰っていた『まっすぐな心で』です。岡崎さんのアルバムに一貫して流れる「愛しさ，切なさ，勇気」といったテーマが色濃く表れていると思います。また，より一層切ない香りを漂わせている曲としては『出逢いは三月　春』がお薦めです。日常の何気ない風景の奥に見え隠れする細やかな心のひだを，繊細な言葉とメロディで綴った美しい曲です。
　岡崎さんらしさの別の一面である「軽やかな前向き姿勢」は，『朝〜What's goin' on〜』や『幸せになろう』によく表れています。

　ブックレットの最終ページに，岡崎さんの直筆と思われる英語のメッセージ−もう新たに届くことはない，僕等への「手紙」−があります。
