お聴きになればお判り頂けるように、
ファミコン時代の単純な電子音３音のみの音源である。
しかし、よく聴いてみて頂きたい。
たった３音の電子音の重なりだが、
複雑な織物のような主旋律と副旋律の絡み具合、
ここぞと云うときの絶妙な和声などを聴くと、
これ以上ありえるかと思える程の調和の見事さに気付くと思う。

昔、ゲームをプレイしながら聴いたときに感じた感動は
嘘ではなかった。
音楽の完成度と音源の性能とは別次元であることを
思い知らされる。

言わずと知れた超有名ゲーム「ＦＩＮＡＬ　ＦＡＮＴＡＳＹ」の
第一作、二作のサウンドトラック。
その後発展し続けてきた音楽の原点がこの一枚に。
また、アレンジ曲2曲とＦＦII未収録曲4曲も収録。
特にアレンジ曲はシンセサイザーなどでミキシングしてあるメドレーで、
壮大なＦＦワールドを浮かばせる・・・。全てが最高です。

ファミコン版のゲームはとうの昔に廃盤になりましたが（他機種や携帯アプリで移植はされましたけど）、このアルバムが未だに現役で発売され続けていることに驚きです。それだけ今でも人気が根強いのでしょう。サウンド自体は今の時代から比べたらチープな印象ですが、逆にそれが耳に心地良くていつまでも記憶に残ります。

個人的に好きな曲をあげると「マトーヤの洞窟」ですかね。
