   コモドアーズ名義でリッチーが作曲・ボーカルをとった曲が6曲含まれているので、このコレクションのタイトルは厳密には正しくない。しかし、一聴してそれとわかるリッチー独特のボーカルが好きな人なら、「Three Times a Lady」「Still」「Easy」といった名曲が入っていても気にはならないだろう。時の流れのせいか、コモドアーズ時代のヒットよりも、ソロになってからの曲の方が心に染みる。「Hello」は実にソウルフルで、「Penny Lover」は暖かいフィーリングだ。ダイアナ・ロスとの記念すべきデュエット「Endless Love」では、2人とも圧倒的な歌唱力を聴かせてくれるし、コモドアーズ時代の隠れた名曲「Sweet Love」が入っているのもうれしい。ここ数年のリッチーはあまりヒットには恵まれていないが、このコレクションは彼が数多くの素晴らしいラブソングを残してきた証だ。(David Nathan, Amazon.com)

R.リッチーのソロを集めたかのようなタイトルには引っ掛かるが、リッチーのボーカルを含んだ曲を集めたアルバムと思えば、佳曲が揃っている素敵なアルバム。

「Endless Love」はD.ロスとのデュエットで日本でも大ヒットした名曲。永遠の愛を歌って、聴く者の胸を熱くする。「Three Times A Lady」、「Sail On」、「Easy」、「Oh No」、「Still」はCommodoresとしての曲。この中では比較的無名だが「Oh No」が自分に振り向かない女への叶わない愛を歌って泣かせる。「Truly」、「Say You Say Me」はソロになってからの代表作。ソロになってからは、以前にも増して伸びやかに歌うリッチーの姿が見られる。余談だが、「Say You Say Me」を聴いたあるお婆さんが、「西友もシャレたCMを流すようになったねぇ〜」と言ったとか。

バラードを心静かに楽しみたいという方には、うってつけのお勧めアルバム。

コモドアーズ時代からバラードに定評があったが、ソロになってからも益々磨きがかかって、聞く者の心を和ませてくれ、ハッピーな気分にさせてくれます。特に、3、5、8、11、15あたりが推薦曲です。再度ブームの気配があり、今後も目が離せません。
