このアルバム、スティーヴガッドのドラムとラーセンのオルガンサウンドのコラボレーションが見事です。つい何度も聴いてしまう、オススメの逸品です。

ニールラーセンさんのオルガンはとてもクールで同時にソウルフルなところが私の胸を締め付けます。

ギターのバジーフェイトンさんもひらめきが噴出しているソロをひいていますね。

ふたりのからみあいがラブラブであったことが聴いているとひしひしと伝わります。

途中で闇をつんざくマイケルブレッカーさんの乱入があり、思わず悶絶した私です。深町さんの言ったことはほんとうなのですね。遠慮しないんですね。

５）というのはラーセンフェイトンバンドの原型ではないかと感じさせて興味深いものがあります。

ＣＤで聴くスティーヴガッドさんのハイハットが神業であることを再認識させてくれて『一流』の意味をもういちど問いなおすことをさせてくれます。

アルシュミット＝（音響エンジニア）さんの音質とバランスの素晴らしさも捨てがたい魅力になっていると思います。

永遠に語り継がれるべき完成度の高い名盤だと思います。

　ニール・ラーセンは60年代後半、盟友バズ・フェイトンとともにバンド、フルムーンを結成。72年に1stアルバム「Full Moon」をリリース。バンドの解散後、グレッグ・オールマン・バンドに参加。78年に1stソロ「Jungle Fever」を発表。そのレコーディングにはバズ・フェイトンも参加し、時のフュージョンブームに乗りヒット作となる。79年の2ndソロ「High Gear」をリリース後AORに転向（？）し、80年に「Larsen Feiten Band」として同名の1stアルバムをリリース。82年の2ndでは、アルバム・タイトルに「Full Moon」の名前を復活。解散後、再びソロ活動を開始し２枚のアルバムを発表。並行して、多くのアーティストのレコーディングに参加している。

　通常、ニール・ラーセンの代表作といえば「ジャングル・フィーバー」という、どポップフュージョンアルバムだ。しかし、ここんとこちょっとした事情からニール・ラーセンを聞き込むことになり、本アルバムってやっぱりいいなと思い始めた。ガッドとエイブを擁するリズム体、ブレッカーのサックスとなかなかかっこよろしい。もちろんニールのオルガンも良いし、バズのくきこきしたギターは特徴的だ。このころのバズはホントにワンパターンな節回しだったのだが、最近のウェックルバンドでは随分違ったアプローチになった。

　最近、なにしてんのかな。
