ダンスブームに火をつけ、現在のジャネット人気を築きあげた1枚。ダンスブ-ムを巻き起こしたダンスナンバー、NTV系 天気予報のBGMで使用された18カムバック トゥ ミー のようなダンスとは正反対の一度聴いたらCDを手にとりたくなるバラードが収録されている。

お兄さんも彼女も集団で踊ると素晴らしい才能を発揮されてますが、
この「リズムネイション」や「ミスユーマッチ」も初めて見たとき度肝を抜かれてしまいました。
黒いキャップに黒い服で、一糸乱れず踊る様は格好いいの一言でした。
そういうエンターテイメント性もありながら、バラードもしっかり聴かせるし、１曲１曲のつながりがなめらかで、「あ、次の曲もう始まってる」みたいな感じも凝っている作りだと思います。

☆マイケル・ジャクソンの妹、ジャネット・ジャクソンですが、マイケル・ジャクソンと同様、その音楽性は高い評価を得ています。しかも、このアルバムは、１２曲どの曲もリズムが良い上にメロディが美しく印象的で、加えて、INTERLUDE（間奏曲）が８曲織り込まれて質の高い仕上がりになっている力作だと思います。アップ・テンポな〈02：RHYTHM NATION〉や〈14：ESCAPADE〉、バラード〈11：LIVIN' IN A WORLD (THEY DIDN'T MAKE)〉や〈18：COME BACK TO ME〉などなど、これはすごい！！とてもイイ！！
