~今、７０年代のシンガーソングライターブームなのかな？キャロル・キングなど再評価されていてうれしい限り。
~~
その中でもキャット・スティーブンスはナイーブで個性的な声、エキゾチックな雰囲気、プリティなジャケット（彼が描いたもの）で大好きでした。このアルバムは個人的には彼のベストだと思っています。今、コーヒーのＣＭで流れている「雨にぬれた朝」も入っているんですが、それ以外も全部いい曲ばかり。私のイチオシは「MOONSHADOW」泣けます。

フォーキーな曲、７０年代が好きな若い人にぜひ聴いて欲しい。ホントにいいんだから。~

７１年発表。アコギをベースにした弾き語りをメインにするシンガーソングライターだが、２．のラテンもしくはフラメンコっぽいギターからも分かるようにギターの腕はいわゆるフォーク的な稚拙なものではなく、いわゆるギタリストとして聞く人だろう。７．は彼の代表作であり、ピアノをバックにギターの弾き語りで聞かせる名曲。私が彼を知ったのも自家用車の車中で流れたこの曲がきっかけでした。きっと多くの人がこの曲目当てにこの作品を入手していることでしょう。全体的にはトラッド的な暑苦しさもフォークのような薄っぺらい音でもなくシンプルに料理された軽快な作品である。穏やかな朝の日ざしのようなサウンドをゆっくり楽しみたいアルバムだ。
