モーツァルトのピアノ曲では,オリジナル楽器と現代ピアノによるアプローチがあり,前者の方がよりモーツァルトの意図に近いという意見もあるが,はたしてどうだろうか。シフの演奏を聴くと,モーツァルトのスタイルを再現するのは前提として,さらに彼だったらもう少し多彩な表現を求めたのではないか,それを表現するためにこそ現代楽器を弾く意義がある…そう主張しているように思えてならない。80年代の半ばから,約10年の歳月をかけた大仕事だ。ヴェーグの温かくオーセンティックなサポートもすばらしい。

モーツァルトはお膝元のザルツブルグ・アカデミー管
で聴くとさすがだなぁと思わせる演奏が多い。

川崎にMUZAというクラシックのホールがオーブンしたので
ザルツブルグ・アカデミー管の生演奏を聴きに行ったが
実に伝統的かつ新鮮な演奏で非常に感銘を受けた。
やはりモーツァルトの地元であるという自負と誇りが
その演奏からあふれている。
この協奏曲集においても、古楽器演奏の奏法をふまえた
オーセンティックなアプローチで、さすがに古楽器演奏にも
秀でたシフならではの表現が随所にあらわれている。

ここにいるすべての演奏家のモーツァルトに対する
愛がひしひしと伝わってくるので、聴いていると
こちらまでほのぼのとした暖かい気持ちになれる。
私にとってはどんな巨匠や著名な演奏家の演奏と比べても
ひけをとらない極上の名演奏である。
