「春の祭典」といえば、デュトワの十八番。
デュトワらしい非常に洗練されたとにかく徹底して美しい華麗な演奏。
ドロっとした濃い原始性や荒々しい野性的な雰囲気ではなく、
どこまでもたおやかで美しい、それでいて、迫力もしっかりとある。
本当に素晴らしいの一言につきます。

デュトワは、ストラヴィンスキーのバレエ音楽を得意中の得意としている。我が国のＮＨＫ交響楽団への「春の祭典」での衝撃的デビューは、未だに楽員と聴衆双方の語り草となっているほどであり、後の同楽団常任指揮者就任のきっかけとなる名演奏でもあった。デュトワは、よほど自信があるとみえて、「春の祭典」と「ペトルーシュカ」は、その後も、同楽団との定期演奏会や外国公演などで、再三にわたって演奏している。

さて、このＣＤは、フランス音楽だけでなく、ロシア音楽や近現代の大曲でも、色彩感溢れる洗練された演奏で圧倒的評価を受けていたデュトワとその手兵、モントリオール交響楽団の名コンビが、最良の関係にあった時代に録音された名盤である。

ストラヴィンスキーのバレエ音楽三部作を聴いていると、ストラヴィンスキーが最後にたどり着いた究極の完成型が「春の祭典」であったことがよくわかり、作品としての斬新性も面白さも、やはり、一番最後に作曲された「春の祭典」が突出している。

「春の祭典」には、全てのパートに表題と物語のあらすじが付されているので（「ペトルーシュカ」も同様）、非常にわかりやすい曲でもあるのだが、デュトワは、そんな物語の一つ一つの情景が眼前に浮かんでくるような、情感豊かで、切れ味鋭い、ドラマティックな演奏を繰り広げており、聴く者を魅了してやまない。

デュトワとモントリオール交響楽団は、その後、不幸なけんか別れをしてしまい、新譜はもはや期待できない状態になってしまったが、両者の関係が最良の時代に残されたこのＣＤを始めとした多くの名盤は、永遠に聴き継がれていくに違いない。

ハルサイもペトルーシュカも鮮烈な印象を受けました。
鋭いリズムもコミカルなソロ楽器もさすがです。
