モーツァルト的佇まいが濃厚な1・2番に関してはもっと素敵な演奏があるかもしれない。だがベートーヴェン的全人性が開花した3~5番に関してはバックハウスの魅力全開だ。ことにベート-ヴェン的レガート奏法が散りばめられた第3番はベーゼンドルファーの雅で深い響きが徹底的に追求され、バックハウスの凄さに改めて驚嘆する。中でも第1楽章カデンツァ（通常使われるカデンツァとは違う）の凄さは必聴。形態的には思い入れと虚飾を一切排した古典的佇まいだが、その味わい深さは永遠の価値を持つ。精気溢れる伴奏も素敵だ。

バックのハウスのピアノは、これ見よがしでない音で、すてきです。
実直だけど地味すぎない、ぬくもりのある音です。
とくに３番は、バックハウスならではの
抑制のきいた演奏だと思います。
