　ブロウ型のテナー奏者ということで共通した側面を持つスティットとアモンズだが、ブラインドで聴いてもどちらがどちらかすぐにわかってしまう。その違いは何だろうか。
　まずスティットの方が明らかに「手数」が多い。つまり、「吹きまくって」いるのはアモンズではなくスティットの方なのだ。そしてアドリヴの発想もスティットの方がメロディアス。それに比べてアモンズは「ボス・テナー」と言われながら、実はチャーリー・パーカーとは全く異なり、マイクを使わないと音が聞こえないくらいの小音量で吹く奏者だったらしい。ゆえに、豪快に聞こえるのは豪快を装っているからだというのが真相のようである。アモンズのプレイは豪快さを演出するために、むしろ落ち着いてゆったり吹くのが特徴だ。そして、いかにも黒人的な、同じ音を８小節くらいずっと吹きまくるという下品な禁じ手を使うのもアモンズだ。スティットすらアモンズと比べた場合上品な印象を受けてしまう。
　ただ、このアルバムで二人のブロウ合戦になっているのは、「ブルース・アップ・アンド・ダウン」くらいだから、そういう意味ではちょっと拍子抜けするかも。どちらかというとじっくり二人のソロの違いを観賞するアルバムと言える。
