5.0 out of 5 stars この一枚でジャズヴォーカルにはまりました。, 2003/4/3
最盛期のエラの声が弾け、ライブの熱気が伝わってきそうな一枚。
特に、後半のマック・ザ・ナイフやハウ・ハイ・ザ・ムーンのアドリブはその後10年以上経っても超えるものに出会えないほど。
追加の4曲はそれぞれレベルの高い演奏だが、明らかに音質が違うなどの違和感を感じさせる。
せめて、後に加えるなりできなかったものか。

それでも、ジャズにはまる原因となり、今でもマイベストのこの一枚。
初めてが凄過ぎて、他の何を聞いてもあれほどの感動を覚えられなくなるという、不幸の素となったのも許せる素晴らしさだ。

ものすごいに尽きます。
実際このコンサート会場にいたら、ものすごく熱狂したでしょう。
これを超えるライブアルバムというのは、多分どのジャンルにも存在しません。
スキャットなど、アドリブもさることながら、声質の使い分けがすごいです。
澄んだ声で歌ったかと思いきや、ディストーションのきいた迫力のある声も出します。変幻自在です。

おまけの４曲も素晴らしい。「ラブフォーセール」なんか、最高です。音質さえ良ければ全く言うことなしです。

ジャズヴォーカル史上で最高の一枚であり、20世紀が残した文化遺産のひとつではなかろうか。ジャズヴォーカルの中でも実力者のエラが、ドイツで自由奔放な本領を発揮しご当地ソングのクルト・ワイルの歌を見事に聞かせてくれている。サッチモの真似から、ハウ・ハイ・ザ・ムーンに一気に流れ込む一連の歌は何度聴いても感動的だ。
