前作『コドモZ』は、カスケードのひとつの頂点だった。ポップなロックンロールの枠を外さずに、無邪気なDJ感覚でチョイスされた、トンガった音楽アイディアに満ちていた。デジ・ロックからパンク、歌謡曲からジャズまで、パズルのようにはめこまれた音のひとつひとつが新鮮でかっこよかった。さて次は、もっと濃いものを作るのか、思い切って方向転換をするのか? 結果として生まれたのが、カスケード史上最もピュアでストレートなロック・アルバム、すなわち本作である。
とにかく、1曲目から気合の入り方が尋常ではない。すべてアップ・テンポのパンクな曲ばかりで、歌詞もいつも以上に直情型だ。「考える前に行動に出たアルバムです」とMASASHIも言っていたが、愛も怒りも喜びも悲しみもすべて抱えて今を突っ走れ、というまっすぐなメッセージが素直に耳に入ってくる。誤解されることの多いバンドだが、これは正しく男泣きロックである。 (ミヤモトヒデオ) --- 2000年07月号
