　久石譲が手がけてきた北野映画のサントラの中で、
最も一曲一曲の存在感があると思います。監督の
希望でつくられた、ストリングスを中心にした構成に
なっています。
　北野映画のベスト盤として発売された「joe hisaishi
meets kitano films」には未収録の名曲もあります。
一見の価値ならぬ“一聴”の価値あり。

とても悲しい曲である。一瞬の死。記憶は走馬灯のように駆け抜ける。とても短い人生を生きて死ぬ。誰しもに可能であり、非現実的な物語。一生をかけた怒りを何にぶつければいいのだろうか。その対象をすべて失った時に感じる孤独。ゆえにすべてに対する感謝。社会のルールからはみ出さなければそのルールによって惨めに死を待つしかない。社会的な罪から自らの意志によって解き放つ運命。すべてを敵に回すことで自己の存在をはじめて真に感じる様。このサウンドトラックはそれを表現している。映画を見なくても、曲のテーマ、そして映画の解説を読むだけでも北野武の想い、そして久石譲の応え、これらが映画となるのだが、心に受け取ることができる。考えさせられる。

「HANA-BI」に予備知識のない方には
作品をご覧になってから聴かれることを強くお勧めします。
もしどうしても試聴される場合、曲の冒頭部分にとどめて･･。
全て聴いてしまった後で「こういう結末？」となっても後の祭りです。
