5.0 out of 5 stars 様々な境界をにじませてゆく音の流れ, 2003/12/4
平沢進の作品群に絶大な影響を与えたタイのイメージがもっとも表面化した形で作られたアルバム。
聴いていると彼の頭にあったのであろう電脳世界とアジアの情景が渾沌とした順序、パターンで現れ、そのイメージが生きる、死ぬのくりかえし、すなわち輪廻を連想させる…ってな事も言えちゃうくらい幻想的な気持ちにさせてくれる。

壮大な力強さで流れる「アーキタイプエンジン」、「賢者のプロペラ」で引き継がれることになる名曲「ロータス」などなど、印象的な曲が多い。アルバム全体を取り巻くカトゥーイ(ニューハーフ)のイメージも作品世界を引き立てる重要な要素になっている。

　……というのは前作「オーロラ」の帯の惹句でしたが、その言葉は本作により相応しいと思います。「Auchetype Engine」「Lotus」「Sim City」「月の影」と、絶妙な色気と殺気を孕んだ名曲が目白押し。前作のさやさやと優しい感触から、一気に心臓が痛くなるような高みに昇りつめた感のある傑作。

「君なら９０年代のDark Side of the Moonを作れるよ」と友人の音楽評論家に言われてこの作品に着手したそうですが、月の影やエコーズにその片鱗は感じられます。制作途中でタイがマイブームになりアジア風味が増したそうですが、それでもアルバムの統一感は損なわれていないのがヒラサワたる所以でしょう。こなかった未来を仏教の輪廻すら感じさせる時空の広さで表現する懐の深さ。そこいらの薄っぺらい産業ロックには到底真似できないものです。私にとって、アルバム全体の統一感、出来からいえばヒラサワソロ作でこれが一番です。

さあ歩いていこう。おおきな大陸に鳴り響く堂々たるテクノミュージック。平沢の声がまたそれを助長する。一枚のアルバムとしてすぐれた作品である。
