映画はDVDで見た。その時からそのサントラのメロデーが頭から離れなかった。内容は、全体にクラッシック調で素晴らしいの1語だ。まずメロディラインがシッカリしているので繰り返しがあっても全然気にならない,逆にもっと聞かせてくれないかと思うほどだ。作曲のジマーは確かドイツ人だったと聞いている。9章？に現れる宮殿への皇帝の帰還のメロデーはまさにワーグナーの指環のウラハラ城を彷彿させる。全体のメインテーマが懐かしげにここぞという時にでてくる、また躍動感にあふれるあの戦闘シーンが待ってましたと顔を出す。感動のしっぱなしだ。こちうのを官能美に溢れた音楽と言うのかな？それに音が素晴らしい。聞かなきゃ損。

グラディエイターを見た人は当然、そうでない人にもおすすめの作品。このサントラに収録されている曲には、テレビのＢＧＭとして使われている曲も多くある。映画を盛り上げた勇ましい楽曲の数々を堪能してください。

「素晴らしい」の一言に尽きる。
グラディエーターの映画そのものは、ストーリーで興醒めしてしまう
部分もあったが、それでもあの映画が好きだと感じてしまうのは
この曲があったからだろう。何といっても3曲目の"The Battle（闘
い）"と13曲目の"Barbarian Horde（異教徒の群れ）"の2曲は名曲と

いっても良い。この音楽を聴いているだけでも、あの映画の躍動感を
再度体験してしまう。いや、それ以上かもしれない。また全てが終わり、
大きな安らぎへと我々を導いてくれるかのような"Honor Him（彼に光栄
を）""Now We Are Free（ついに自由に）"の二曲も素晴らしかった。

この曲を聴くたびにふたたび躍動し、そして涙する・・・。

男臭い曲の好きな方は、絶対に逃せないＣＤであることは間違いない。
