このアルバムは、過去のシングルB面曲や、
カヴァー曲を集めた企画モンなのだが、
結構内容が濃いので、私はお気に入りの一つにしている。
相変わらずドラムのリズムワークとギターの
ザクザク感には骨抜きにされるが、特に注目するのは
Gtのスコット・イアンとDrのチャーリー・ベナンテが
もう一つ所属しているバンドS.O.Dのカヴァー1の
「ミルク」だが、素晴らしく速い展開に圧倒されるだろうし、
2はパブリック・エネミーのカヴァー「ブリング・ザ・ノイズ」
で、この当時でヘヴィさとラップを共有した音を作るのは
珍しいし、KISSのカヴァー8「パラサイト」と、
ベンチャーズの超有名曲9「パイプライン」
は正直、元曲よりメチャクチャカッコイイ。
「パイプライン」は元曲を知っていたら多分これを
聞いてはあまりのカッコ良さにニヤけてしまうだろう。
とにかく、企画モンにしては聞き応え十分であるので、
興味のある方は是非いかが？

１９８１年ニューヨークにて結成。これはあきらかに彼等のピークの一角をなす一枚。アンスラックスは一言ではかたずけられないものを持っています。それは＝多様性＝雑食性＝であります。具体的には、基本的には極悪スピード＋ざっくりスラッシュこみのハードコアパンクパワー炸裂なのですが、その狂暴性や野獣性のほかに、『ユーモア感覚』『社会性』をきらりと持っています。なぜならこのアルバムの中ではカントリー、サーフィンミュージックを処理して、歌詞検閲機関に対してきちんとプロテストしている楽曲を歌っております。アングリーな態度を持ちつつも頭はクールでエンターテイメント性を忘れない頭のよいバンドだと思われます。ライブ音源２曲、プラス、KISS/DISCHARGE/TRUSTのカバーもやってます。以上のような多様性が許容できるかどうかがこのアルバムのチョイスのカギとなると思われます。ばかのようなふりして実際そうでないやつに要注意です。カタルシスを求めるユーザーには最適かも。ヒップホップとのブレンド作業をも着手している面も特筆すべき点であります。ラップにもチャレンジしております。１０点中８点

スラッシュ4天王と語られることの多い彼らであるが、硬派なHR/HMリスナーをよそに、今作ではHIPHOPとメタルの融合、敬愛するNYハードコアバンドのカヴァー、スラッシュ風ベンチャーズ、コミカルなカントリーフレイバー等、後のミクスチャー、オルタナ、モダンへヴィネスの原型ともいえるスタイルを確立している。黒Tシャツにブルージーンズというダサダサファッション・メタルには無い知的なストリートセンスを感じます。
