ヌヴー(1919~49)死の前年の録音。どんなに冷静に聴いたとしても興奮を抑え切れないライヴだ。スヴーの途方もなく深く大きなソロには唖然とするばかりである。もちろん演奏の質は旧盤(EMI)の比ではない。既成のイメージを覆すS.イッセルシュテットの燃えたぎった伴奏も凄い。

　第１楽章の冒頭、２分37秒。オーケストラの長い序奏の後、ただならない緊迫感に満ちたヌヴーのヴァイオリンの音が飛び込んできた瞬間から、その演奏にがしっと心を掴まれていました。

　研ぎ澄まされたヴァイオリンの強靭な音。凛として、揺るぎない気迫。魂の命ずるままに、心に感じた音楽をひたと見つめ、歌い上げてゆく表現力。聴く者の胸を打たずにはおかないヌヴーのヴァイオリンに、何度も目頭が熱くなりました。

　学生の頃、レコードでこの演奏を聴き、鳥肌が立つような感動を覚えて以来、ジネット・ヌヴーは私にとって、かけがえのない演奏家のひとりです。ショーソンの『詩曲』も魅力的ですが（ほんの１、２分ほどですが、彼女の演奏を、『アート・オブ・ヴァイオリン』のＤＶＤで見ることができます）、ヌヴーの凄まじい集中力、テンションの高さを記録したこの1948年のライヴ録音は、本当に素晴らしい。神がかり的とさえ言いたい演奏の感銘度は、マグニチュード･･････うーん、測定不能。強烈に揺さぶられ、心の針が振り切れてしまう恐れがあるので、要注意です。

　今まで聴いてきたクラシック音楽の全演奏のなかで、クライバー指揮のベートーヴェンと並んで、最も強く、熱い感動と興奮を覚えた演奏。こういう演奏が残っていることの有り難さに、手を合わせたくなる一枚です。

コンサートに行って物足らないのはこうした演奏がほとんど聞けないから.
ここにあるのは『練習の成果』などではない
きれいに、とかうまく、とかそうした邪心もない
進むに連れて集中力はどんどん高まっていく
音質はクリアではないがすぐ引き込まれて忘れてしまう

ヌブーはもういないがこの録音がある

　１９１９年にフランスで生まれ、１９４９年に、航空機事故で、わずか３０歳で他界したジネット・ヌヴーが、死の前年（１９４８年）に、イッセルシュテット指揮の北ドイツ放送交響楽団と共に行なった演奏会でのライブ録音である。ヌヴーの鮮烈な若さと熱情に溢れるブラームスのヴァイオリン協奏曲で、ちょっと、ヒラリー・ハーンの様な所が有る。若さの故の、少々深みに欠ける点が無くは無いが、この演奏には、若いヌヴーの生きる事への喜びが溢れて居る。この輝く様な演奏の翌年、彼女が他界する事を誰が想像しただろうか。
