82年~85年までNHKのFMで坂本教授がやっていた番組「サウンド・ストリート」で募集した視聴者からのデモテープの優秀作を集めて86年にレコードとして発表されたもののCD化。今をときめくディー・ライトのDJ-TOWAも応募してたのだ。

サウンドストリートをリアルタイムで聴いていたあの頃を思い出しま
す（特にデモテープ特集はお気に入りでした）。放送終了からもう
１９年ですか…随分と歳をとったものです。

独創的な音楽センスを発揮する者がいれば、その一方でアイデア勝ちと
言えるものや偶発的な情景を捉え作品としてまとめた者もいて、その
バラエティの豊富さはいかにも素人投稿モノならではです。他人のプラ
イベートな録音を聴かされている感が強いものも多く、録音技術や機材
なども今と比べれば隔世の感がありますので、そういう点を割り引いた
耳で鑑賞する必要はあると思います。

ただ、テイ・トウワや槇原敬之など、現在の音楽シーンで活躍している
彼らの若かりし頃（当時トウワ20歳、マッキー16歳）のちょっと青臭い
作品が楽しめるのはこのCDの醍醐味でしょう。彼らの熱心なファンなら
要チェックと言えます。

少年時代に彼らの投稿テープを聴いて「素人でもここまで出来るんだ」
と感心し、「音楽を作る」という事が、特殊な技能をもった人間だけの
敷居の高い嗜好ではないと教わりました。私が青春時代を楽器演奏や
作曲に明け暮れるきっかけとなった重要な思い出の断片が、このCDには
詰まっています。

個人的には巷に蔓延していた坂本クローン（教授の曲調、アレンジワー
クに憧れ、模倣するDTM派アマチュアミュージシャン）達の目標地点に
もなった岡元氏の２作品、そして当時の番組中、教授から絶賛されて
いた小沢氏の「Womb」が大のお気に入りです。
そしてON-AIR当時、ラジオの前で爆笑しながら聴いたドナルド氏の
「うさぎとかめ」も(笑)。

このCDには選曲から漏れたものの、この番組からは他にも沢山の名作が
世に送り出されています。教授、今からでも遅くないので、是非とも
「DEMO TAPE‐2」を出しませんか？

廃盤になったと聞いていましたが、探してみた所運命的に出会えました。
一度「福島市ゴジラ」を聞いたらヤミツキになります。
お馴染みのゴジラのテーマがこんな風になるなんて。みたいな感じで
いつの間にか口ずさんでしまい私的にとてもお勧めな一曲です。

どういう代物かは通常のレビューを見てくれ。槙原範之（敬之）15歳の音源が１つ、鄭東和（テイ・トウワ）の音源が２つ。コレクターなら買え。他にも聞きどころ・笑いどころ・突っ込みどころいっぱい。客観的に見て一般向けとは言えないが、マニア必携とは言えよう。
