   1998年発表のメジャー・ファースト・アルバム。ドラムスが柴田一郎になって全体がタイトに引き締まり、各楽器の音も太くなって、見違えるほどダイナミックなバンド・サウンドになった。ソングライティングにしても、歌詞は脳内妄想的な独自の世界を確立し、メロディーは歌謡曲的なキャッチーさを強め、極めて完成度が高い。

とても聴きやすい内容になっている。
ちょっと懐かしいロックンロール的な楽曲。
坂本慎太郎さん独特の言い回しや歌詞にも
注目して欲しい。
タイトルチューン「3×3×3」はショッキングとも言える
内容になっている。
「EVIL CAR」ではゆらゆら動く自分がおり、
なんともいえない世界へググっとひきずりこまれる。
何度聴いても飽きないかっこいいアルバムです。

どこぞのロックスターが謳った「ロックは進化しない。変化し続けるんだ」という格言を体現する日本のバンドの一つ、ゆらゆら帝国。
似たようなアルバムは一つとしてないし、特に二枚同時発売の「しびれ」「めまい」以降の作品はどれもクセのあるインパクト抜群の逸品ばかりです。
しかし今後どのような方向性に進もうと、このデビューアルバムの価値が揺らぐ事は無いでしょう。
メジャーデビューに際してドラマーが柴田一郎にチェンジされドロップされたこの作品は、「挨拶がわり」とするにはあまりにも濃密なクオリティの名曲の数々が、然る場所に配置された傑作となりました。
再生した途端に爆音、３曲目から９分を超えるなどかなりやりたい放題ですが、曲の流れのセンスは抜群で、
耳に畳み掛けるロックチューン４〜７の展開は興奮するし、サイケ・ブギとでも形容したくなるタイトルナンバー８はセリフ調の歌詞も実にトリップできる代物です。お試しあれ。
サウンドも独特で、ガレージパンクのようでありながらどことなくレトロ。
例えるなら昭和の年号がずっと変わらず今まで続いているかのような。
フロントマンの坂本慎太郎の世界観は水木しげるに影響を受けているそうで、自らを「オカルトロック」と称したこともあるそうです。
弱者への媚とはまったく違う意味で歌われる諦観は今も歌詞のモチーフとして続く要素ですが、どこか懐かしい気持ちにさせられるのは不思議です。
深層心理に眠る本能的快楽をサラリと描いてみせる。キャッチーといってもいいかもしれません。

名盤なんていう予定調和な表現はこの作品に使いたくない。そつのなさだけでそう呼ばれる作品郡と比してもコレは明らかに頭１つ２つ抜けています。
ファッションでなく音楽を求めている人の心であれば、だれにでも響くであろう個性あふれる大傑作です。
