ライブステージで必ず演奏される名曲が沢山入っています。矢野顕子＝ピアノ弾き語り・・・と思っている人には是非聴いて欲しいアルバムです。坂本龍一氏との関係が（音楽的にですよ）一番輝いていた頃ではないかと思います。特に「いつか王子様が」や「アイ・シング」はせつない思いを抱く女性の心にきっと響くものがあるはず。良い曲ばかりで逆に大ヒットした一般民衆ウケ用ＣＭ曲「春咲小紅」がつまらなく感じてしまう人も多いはず。教授のアレンジも最高の一枚です。

CMに起用された楽曲「春咲小紅」のヒットを経て、
どんな作品を作るのかと思いきや、これが恐ろしく前衛的なアルバム。
レコード会社からは先のシングルを収録したアルバムを、という命令があったそうだが、
そのシングル曲をとりあえず収録した他は全て好き勝手やり放題な楽曲揃いのアルバムである。
矢野流テクノ・パンクな「vet」「rose garden」、
小学一年生の詞に曲をつけた「たいようのおなら」〜「ぼくはなきみそ」等
他のアルバムでは聴くことのできない実験的な楽曲を
YMO・大村憲司・土屋昌巳・仙波清彦らがバックアップ。
矢野顕子初心者向けのアルバムではないので、初めて聴く人はそんな心構えで。

このアルバムは幕の内弁当型だと思う。ジャンルの違うおかずが同時にはいっている。ヒットした「春咲小紅」、「Ｉ　ＳＩＮＧ」などは明るいテクノポップ系。「昨日の数学のテストに私の理想は届かないー」「昨日の朝までは美人だった、鏡の中にいるブスは誰」など少女期の不安定な気持ちをよくぞいってくれましたという歌詞の「いつか王子様が」「ただいま」などのリアルな生活感テクノポップ。実験的な現代ピアノ曲とでもいうべき「たいようのおなら」などの曲。「ＲＯＳＥ　ＧＡＲＤＥＮ」はちょっとアジアの入った無国籍テクノポップ。湯村輝彦のイラストのジャケットはＣＤの大きさだとちょっともったいない。
