5.0 out of 5 stars 怒濤のメランコリック・ガレージパンク！, 2003/11/19
ついにインディーズ時代の音源と未発表を集大成した『ファントムギフトの奇跡』（これも５つ星モノでした！）が発売されましたが、このアルバムも日本以外では生まれ得なかった歴史的名盤と断言出来るでしょう。昭和歌謡の切なさを結晶化したメロディーに、GS特有の少女趣味をサイケデリック＆文学的にコーティングした歌詞。そこに対極にありそうなハードにグルーヴするガレージパンクなサウンドが炸裂すれば、危うい均衡のうえになりたつ奇跡としか言いようのない美しさに満ちています。様々な時代の音楽が、偏見を抜きに並列して聴かれるいまこそ、ピッタリくる一枚ですね。海外でも日本のオリジナルな存在として一部で熱狂的に支持されています。

4.0 out of 5 stars きわどいながらもかなりクール, 2003/9/27
　最初に聴いたときは、趣味性のつよい詞に抵抗を覚えましたが、メロディも音も７０年代ＧＳをただ模倣しているのではないかっこよさがあります。スパイダースやタイガースの文脈にジャックスも入ってくるような感じ。９０年代以降にこの空気を持ってるバンドは例えばゆらゆら帝国とか。でもゆらゆら帝国よりフェティシズム臭がつよいので、ＧＳは嫌いという人にはあまりおすすめできませんが・・・でも、おふざけではなく本気でＧＳ的な世界観のなかでやってる感じはかなりクールだとおもいます。

未発表音源を含む『ザ・ファントムギフトの奇跡』が発売されてから、当然聴き比べたくなる。もともとライヴに定評のあるバンドなので、録音ものになると少し歌謡曲的になってしまっているが、ピンキー青木の書く詩や、ナポレオンのギターの響き、サリー久保田の粒立ったベース、チャーリー森田の素早く甲高いドラム…どれもがやはり素晴らしい。
