ルトガー・ハウアー扮する博士は単なるマッド・サイエンティストではないし、その博士に作られたウィル・ウィートン(｢スタンド・バイ・ミー｣のゴーディ少年役だった)扮するツギハギ人間(原題の｢MR.STITCH｣)もただの殺人兵士ではない。これはヒューマニズムを追求した現代の｢フランケンシュタイン｣である。

印象に残るようなショッキングな場面があるので、夢見の悪い人が1人で観るのにはオススメできませんが、大切な人と2人で観ると愛を再確認できるような映画。
ちなみに｢悪魔の種子｣と言う邦題の映画は他にもある。しかもそちらは内容に合ってるタイトルだが、これはどうにもしっくりいかない。
