92年に発表された7thにしてラストアルバム。短期間で脱退してしまったギターの中間氏の後任に当時20歳という若さでバンドに加入した
清水氏。侮ることなかれ、いつしか失ってしまった、フレッシュかつ攻撃的な味をバンドに加えることに成功しています。
１曲目のVENOM STRIKE のソロはホント痺れます。
　曲によって多少歌詞に迷いというか伝えたいと言う気持ちが、
目に付いて自分には、所々臭く聞こえてしまうのが難点。
その後ツアーを最後にvoの森川氏が脱退ANTHEMは永い沈黙に入ってしまう。

バンドを取り巻く閉塞的な状況に対する怒りが作品全体を覆っている（ような気がする）92年発表の7作目。血管がブチ切れるような速攻激烈チューン“VENOM STRIKE”で幕を開ける本作には、この他にも、“GOLD & DIAMONDS”、“HEAVY DUTY”、“CRY IN THE NIGHT”、“DEVIL INSIDE”といった名曲が収められているが、個人的にはラストを飾る“SILENT CROSS”に一票を投じたい。何度聴いても感動の涙を禁じ得ないこの名曲における森川さんのヴォーカルは、アンセムで積み上げてきた自らのキャリアの集大成とでも言うべきものであり、あらゆるロック・ヴォーカルの到達点として永遠に語り継がれるべき名演なのです。残念ながら本作発表から間もなくして森川さんが脱退の意思を表明。バンドはついに解散となるわけだが、少なくともこのアルバムには、様々な否定的要素を跳ね返そうとするエネルギーは宿っていたように思う。DON AIREYもイイ仕事してるよ、ホントに。でも、結局時代が悪かったって事なんだろうね。

4.0 out of 5 stars 刀折れ、矢尽きても・・・, 2006/4/18
復活前の最終作。
色々な意味で煮詰まったあげく、従来のアンセムのスタイル・美学を一度破壊することを企図したのでは・・・と勘繰らせるアルバム。
この点、44 MAGNUM、REACTION、DEAD ENDがヘヴィー・メタルから遠ざかっていったのとは対照的に、アンセムはよりヘヴィーになっている。
内容的には、森川のガナるヴォーカルに多少辟易させられるが、ヤケクソ気味のゴリ押しナンバーや新しいタイプの曲想が意外といい味出している。
しかし、歌詞については賛否両論だと思われる。
