「クール」と言っちゃうと面白みのない音楽を連想させるかもしれない。
だから「涼しげ」と言っておこう。オープニング「空に光る」の
「ジャーン、チャッチャッチャチャーラチャーラチャーラチャーララー」からして
清涼感が一杯なのだが、かと言って乙に澄ましているわけではない。
とにかくダイナミック。ギターが、ベースが、キーボードが、ドラムが、フルートが、
まるで空を縦横無尽に駆け巡っているようだ。

どの曲も高度、かつロックとしての原始的な魅力をも備えているのだけど
白眉はやはり「空に光る」。やっと自分の音楽を世に問うことができる！という歓びで
爆発しそうなこの曲はプログレッシヴ・ロックの範囲に留まらない、隠れた永遠の名曲。
もちろん「空に光る」だけではない。「麻酔パート1」は聴いてると本当に感覚が麻痺しそうだし、
ラスト・ナンバーの「さよならプログレ」にも注目したい。
リーダーの清水氏がイタリアのPFMに心酔しているのは有名だが、
アルバム中この曲がもっともPFMの影響を色濃く感じられるのは
「おめーらカッコだけプログレっぽい音楽に満足してないでPFMでも聴いてみろ」
という清水氏一流の毒舌が暗にこめられているから…と思うのは考え過ぎ？
そんなこと考えなくてもカッコいい曲なんだけど。

とにかく、こんなに涼しげで爽やかで歓びに満ちて、そしてダイナミックな作品は
滅多にあるもんじゃありません。理屈をこねても聴き応えがあるけど、
理屈をこねるまでもなく「カッコいいロック」なのです。
