ガンダムの後を継いで始まったイデオンは湖川友謙のアクの強いキャラクターと富野喜幸のスケール大きすぎて何だか「!?」な物語が印象的でした(80~81年放映)。すぎやまこういちの音楽はさすがにドラマチック。私は戸田恵子の歌うEDテーマ,1が好きでした。

5.0 out of 5 stars 廃盤だけは避けたい名盤, 2005/9/16
自分が生まれて初めてのめり込んだ音楽。当時ガンプラばかりにおこづかいをつぎ込んでいたが、オーケストラものならレコードを買ってあげるということで、特別に母親に都会のレコード店で買ってもらった。テレビでイデオンを観ていて、このエンディングに引き込まれる感じがどうにも不思議で、プラモデル以外ならこの音楽が一番気になる存在だった。
その後、サイケやプログレ、クラシック等、一番と思われるジャンルはことごとく変わったが、このイデオンだけはずっと聴き続けている。
すぎやまこういちさんは、ドラクエで第一線の方となるが、この盤で既にあらゆる面で突出している。叙情たっぷりのインストは、宮崎アニメの久石譲さんと双璧をなすくらいに、楽器のキャラクターを充分引き出した曲づくりとなっている。オーケストラ楽器と、ロックの楽器の融合にもっとも成功した一つはビートルズのプロデューサー、ジョージ・マーティンだと思うが、この盤もそれにおとることなく成功している。ロック編成にオーケストラが付いただけなのか、ブラスバンドにロックドラムをつけただけなのか分からないくらいに、それぞれの楽器が主役になっている。
録音状態もいいし、演奏者もうま過ぎ(IIの方はIほどうまくない)。曲によっては、完全にフュージョンもある。例えばピアノは羽田健太郎さん。
あと、1を歌っているのは「マチルダ」さん「ショムニ」で有名な戸田惠子さんの二十歳の頃の歌声である。

　なぜか突然イデオンのＢＧＭを無性に聴きたくなり購入しました。20年前にカセットテープで販売していた物を持っていて数回聴いたことはあったのですが、今回あらためて聴いてみてあまりの素晴らしさにビックリです。それぞれの曲の完成度の高さ、構成など、これはまさに大人向け。特に「デス・ファイト」のカッコよさは特筆ものです。「コスモスに君と」から始まる構成も渋い。

イデオン音楽の原点。「星々たちの物語」や「デス・ファイト」は、本編でも効果的に使われた名曲ですね。かつてLPレコードでは、BGM集パート２と、何曲かのBGMを収録した２枚組ドラマ編、さらに未収録BGM集が発売されていました。中学生時代からファンである者としては、それらをすべて網羅した総音楽集CDを是非出して欲しいと思います。
