   1999年にTBS系列で放送され、人気故に2000年には劇場版まで公開されるに至った刑事ドラマの異色傑作。警視庁捜査一課二係配属となった新人・柴田純（中谷美紀）。二係の仕事は一係が迷宮入りと判断した数々の事件を名目上捜査継続するというもので、メンバーは基本的に閑職に甘んじている様子。だが、普段は社会常識を持たないダメ人間同然の柴田が、謎解きに関してのみは天才的な能力を発揮、次々と難事件を解明していく。

僕も普段TVドラマを観る習慣はないんですが、ケイゾクだけは
滅茶苦茶はまって、初めて「ドラマがあるから金曜が待ち遠しい！」
っていう気分を味わいました。

とにかく、カメラワーク、テンポ、作品中に出てくる小物、
シュールな会話、どれを取ってもいちいちセンスが
いいんですよね。
8年経った今改めて見ても、全く古臭く感じないどころか、
真山氏の着崩したファッションは今でも新しいんじゃないか？
って思ってしまう。
ことカメラワークや間の取り方に関しては、その後の諸監督に
多大なる影響を及ぼした事でしょう。

普段、TVドラマを観ない人にこそオススメしたい作品です。

私は実はTVを殆ど見ないんです。（１週間累計で１~２時間程度）
数年振りに体調をくずし仕事を休んだ日の夕方、偶然再放送で流れていたのがこの第一話でした。熱でぼやけた意識のなか、何の期待もせず眺めていたのですが、気が付くとベッドから身を乗り出して見ている自分がいました。タイトルすらこの時点では知りませんでした。
何かが違う。何だろう。何故惹きつけられるんだろう？

体調も戻ったその週末レンタルで全巻借りてきて見始めました。１週間レンタルなので１日１~２本ずつ見る予定だったのですが、夜９時位から見始めたら止まらなくなり、結局最終話（というか特別篇）まで見終わったのは翌日の昼前。眠いのに妙にハイになった状態でビデオを返却し、そのまま今度は映画版を借りてきて鑑賞。さすがにその後は寝ましたけど。

こんな経験は初めてでした。それまで「胡散臭い演技の人」というイメージしかなかった渡部篤郎の格好よさ、とてつもなく透き通った演技をする中谷美紀、そしてこんなに人を惹きつけるドラマがあるんだということにやっと気付くことができました。
心底お勧めします。後日DVDで全巻揃え、今でもたまに見ています。

柴田と真山コンビ。ケイゾクが、今なお根強いファンを持つ理由の一つだろう。１巻ということで、まだ二人の絶妙なかけ合いは見られないが、これから始まる物語には欠かせない一冊である。オープニングの写真が連続して流れる映像は毎回変わるので、これも見逃せない。
