昨年12月に逝去した映画音楽家、佐藤勝の追悼盤ともいえるCD企画。93年五反田ゆうぽうとで行なわれた{佐藤勝映画音楽コンサート}の模様を彼自身のコメントを加えて収録。

昨年の12月、急逝された日本映画音楽の巨匠佐藤勝。貴重なライヴがCD化された。録音されたのは93年9月24日、五反田ゆうぽうと簡易保険ホール。300本を越える作品の中から山本薩夫の『人間の条件』、五社英雄の『極道の妻たち』、黒澤明の『用心棒』など巨匠と組んだ代表曲を自ら指揮している。さらに貴重なのが曲間の解説で、本人による思い出が語られる。面白いのが『用心棒』で、譜面が紛失し記憶で採譜したため原曲と若干変わってしまったという。なぜ生前に出してくれなかったのだろう。 (竹之内円) --- 2000年06月号
