5.0 out of 5 stars シンプルなジャケットに感じる、REVの思い, 2007/4/1
出口雅之が参加していた「グラスバレー」の解散後、出口自身が結成したユニットが「REV」。そしてそのファーストアルバムがこの作品です。
ジャケットはREVらしく、シンプルかつワイルドなブラックで。白文字で「REV」と印字され、出口の姿が写し出されています。
ジャケットの画像をupしていますので、御参考下さい。

さて、中身です。
デビューシングル【甘いKiss Kiss（Album　Mix）】をはじめ、
【抱きしめたい】【果てしない夢を（REV　Version）】【こわれながら美しくなれ】
など、REVの魅力がたくさん味わえることが出来ると思います。
基本的にロックテイストの強いREVですが、ギスギスした曲がないのが聴きやすいですね。

そんな中異彩を放つのが、4曲目として収録されている【こわれながら美しくなれ】。
切ない歌詞とメロディーを、しかし切なくなり過ぎないようにうまく組み立てています。
なぜシングルカットしなかったのだろうと思うくらい、いい曲ですよ☆

ちなみに「REV」のメンバーは3人と思われがちですが、あくまでも出口のソロユニットです。
名前の由来は、「Revolution」を省略したもののようです。

このＣＤを買うのは実は３回目。人生の狭間で幾度となく別れてきたＣＤだが、やはり私とはこれからも時間の流れを過ごしていくことになるのだろうか。それくらい、私にとっては重要で、忘れられない一枚となっている。

出口雅之がリリースしてきたなかで、ＲＥＶという存在はある意味「異質」かもしれない。
グラスバレーの極彩色の世界から今まで見てきた中で、これほど重量感のある音楽は、ＲＥＶ時代だけではなかろうか。しかもそれが他のどの時代よりも、どんな色鮮やかな色彩よりも印象の強いモノクロな世界で、聴く者の心をせつなく締め上げて抱きしめて離さない。

出口雅之の魅力は、その日本人離れした容貌もさることながら、深く低く甘い低音にあると私は思う。しかし、それは決して「陰」ではなく、日本人アーティストには珍しい「陽」の魅力をもって私たちに訴える。アップテンポな曲もいいが、バラードを歌わせると、彼の魅力は最大限引き出される。「にじんだ瞳」などを聞くとそれがお分かりいただけると思う。

いま彼は、このＣＤの世界とはまた違う世界を展開しているが、いつかはふらっと一本のギターを手にして、またこんな世界を私たちに聞かせてもらいたいと思う。
廃盤になってほしくない一枚である。

Beingと言うと嫌いな人が多い反面、
大好きな人は大好きって感じではないかなと思います。
また、曲がどれも似ているとか、タイアップ重視だとかも。

その中でこのアルバムはちょっと、
他のBeingとは違うイメージかもしれません。

全体的に音が打ち込みより生の楽器やギター中心で、
現代でも聴き易いと思います。

1はいかにもBeingっぽいですが、コードの使い方等で、
ちょっと他のグループと違った味わいがあると思います。
また、5や6の様な深い味を持ってる曲なんかもありますし、
7はポップ化したグラスバレーって感じでしょうか。
3,4,8なんかもポップで面白い曲ですしね。

Beingってくくりで見なければ『隠れた名作』として
評価出来ると思います。

Beingらしさがあり、ポップさもあり、
でもそれだけではなくて、
しっかりした楽曲のセンスもあるのではないでしょうか。

2ndはあまり好きになれませんが…
