ザードの楽曲の中では、極めて異質な作品だと思う。
励まし系でもなく、癒し系でもない。
でも、僕は、このタイプの曲が大好きです。

ドラマティックでスリリング。
いわば、プログレッシヴ・ロック的な、壮大な曲展開だけど、
切ない。

他に同じ系統の楽曲はないかと、
ザードの曲は全部聞いたけど、
残念ながら無かった。

出だしは、演奏楽器は少なく、物寂しげだが、
緊張感に満ち溢れていてスリリング。

徐々に楽器は付け足されていき、
間奏でついに爆発する。

圧巻なのはエンディング。
ストリングスが、
寂寞感と荒涼感と絶望感を絶妙に表現している。

アダムとイヴを想起させる深遠な歌詞だが、
繰り返し出てくる「ずっと君を見ていた」というフレーズが、
とても印象的で、切ない。

この、ザードでは異質ともいえる、
自分の大好きなタイプの曲を、透明感あふれる、
クリスタル・ヴォイス、坂井泉水の声で聞ける、というのは、
最高の贅沢です。

坂井泉水さんのご冥福を心よりお祈り致します。

「運命の・・・」、「少女の頃に・・・」両作ともアルバム「永遠」収録。前者は情念的な世界で、「もう少しあと少し」や「Just believe in love」等の世界を引きつぐ。対照的に「少女の頃に・・・」は素朴な歌詞の世界を歌っている。熱唱である。

　「運命」という非常にスケールの大きなモノが含まれている作品・・・
　それに見合うのはまさに「宇宙」である。
　「運命」というものは人情的でなく時にはものすごく冷酷でもあるものである。「宇宙」もまさに同じである。そのスケールの大きさといい、冷酷さといいそれを彷彿させる。

　音楽で「宇宙」を連想させて上質の曲にしてしまうのはまさにスゴイ。
　カップリングは対照的に、人情味あふれる曲である。
