高学歴・高収入・ルックス良しとモテる要素すべてを手にしている稲葉浩志。
なのになのに、なぜここまでモテない男の心情を表現できるのか（苦笑）
好きな女性に対する憧れや嫉妬、あるいは性的な欲望が本当にリアルな言葉で表現されていて
その一つ一つが胸に突き刺さる。
「女心を知るにはこれ」みたいなCDの薦め方をよく聞くけど、それと同じように
このアルバムにはじめっとした女々しい男の本心がパンパンに詰まっている。
全15曲となかなかのボリュームの割には、ソロならではの世界観できちんとまとまっていて散漫な感じはしない。
個人的に「墓場まで持っていくアルバム」のうちの1枚。

惜しむらくは、「稲葉のソロアルバム？B'zと同じでしょ？」と興味のない人に一蹴されること。
B'zとはまったくの別の世界が広がっていることを一人でも多くの人に知ってもらいたいがなあ・・・

陳腐な表現かもしれないけど、このアルバムは言葉ではこうとしか表現できません。

B'zをやっている時の稲葉さんはポップなかんじ。しかしながらこのアルバムでは恐ろしいほどに暗い。特に詩の世界がとても暗い。B'zをやっている時以上に語りかけてくるものがあります。日本語でしか表現できない、人間が持っている汚らしさ、美しさ、優しさ、もろさ、恐ろしさすべてを見透かしたように語り掛けてくるのです。そしてTAK松本とは一味違うざらっとしたメロディがこの詩に驚くほどマッチしているのです。
お勧めは全部です。ぜんぶを一気に聴いて、この詩の世界をじっくり味わって欲しいです。

POP路線をひた走るいまのB'zどうこう言うより、このアルバム聴いたほうがよっぽどいいと思いますよ。

誰かも書いていましたが、「B'zの稲葉のソロ」という先入観で聴かない人がいるだろうことを残念に思います。
ドロドロとした感情をそのまま表した歌詞は、確かに暗いです。
「Soul Station」の「希望は沈みゆく」という表現が代表的ではないでしょうか。この言葉を読んで「そんなことないよ、希望は常に持ってなきゃ！」と思う方にはお勧めしません。
「arizona」の「夢だろう夢でしょう生まれてくること死ぬこと」この歌詞を読んで「いいなぁ」と思った方、ぜひ聴いてみて下さい。このフレーズの後にも素敵な言葉が続いています。

私が「マグマ」を初めて聴いてから約７年経ちました。今では私の知っているすべてのCD中で一番大切な作品です。その中でも特に好きな２曲を取り上げてみました。新たに「マグマ」を聴く人が増えるなら本当に嬉しいです。
