本CDで取り上げられているテニスンの英詩は特に末尾の韻の響きが美しい。これらの詩を｢読んだ｣時には気付かなかった英詩の｢リズム｣に注意を呼び戻し、幻想的な世界を再構築する葛生氏の音楽もまた素晴らしいものであります。

今回、葛生氏が選択した｢詩｣はイギリスの有名伝承詩｢アーサー王の死｣をモチーフにしたものが多いようです。半分くらいはアーサー王関係でしょうか?
ザ・レイディ・オブ・シャロットでは円卓の騎士の本拠地であるキャメロットの風景が…尖塔に囲まれた4つの灰の壁…目の前に草原が広がり、
アーサーの騎士達が馬を持て駆ける姿が目に浮かびます。

その12人の騎士の中で最も見目麗しく勇壮であった湖の騎士ランスロットを目にしたシャルロットの姫の運命や如何に?

そしてエレーン・ザ・フェアーではアスタロットの姫が森の奥底で良人ランスロットを焦がれる姿が描写されます…詳しい方ならご存知の通り、エレーンは後にランスロットとの間に一児を設け、この子供が聖杯探索を終了させる｢高潔なる騎士 ガラハド｣となるのです…

ラス前｢ポピュラス メインテーマ｣は韻こそ踏んでいないものの葛生氏の歌詞センス、編曲センス(この曲は基本的にゲーム音楽のリミックスの様なものです)…私は最初に聞いた際に思わず落涙したほどです…
｢ポピュラス｣をプレイした人間であれば必ず感銘を受けるメッセージが心を洗い流します…
私の座右の銘｢No one did this, so I shall do this｣(誰も成し遂げた事は無かった、だから私が成し遂げよう)はこの歌の中の歌詞から取らせていただきました。

恐らく、世間の皆様は｢葛生千夏｣と言う名前をご存じ無いでしょう。
しかし、一度耳にされれば｢ああ、あの人か｣と合点が行くと思います。その氏の作品集第二編。葛生氏の作曲、歌唱能力と古典著名詩まで堪能できるお得品です。
