原曲はすべて山下毅雄の傑作ばかり。大概の場合は原曲がこれだけ完成度の高いものだと、カバーしても失敗に終わることが多いのだが．．まぁだまされたと思って二曲目のルパン三世のエンディングテーマを聞いてみてください、あまりのカッコ良さに腰が抜けてしまいます．．しかも、原曲通り歌はしっかりとチャーリーコーセーが歌っています。参加ミュージシャンもエンケン、フュー、天鼓、その他ジャズメン達と豪華。考えてみればこれだけのメンツが集まって、悪いものが出来るはずもない。最高です。

カバー集、Remix集、トリビュート、この類の「企画モノ」の95%以上はクズばかりだけれども、これは違います。大友良英の山下毅雄に対する真摯なリスペクトが溢れつつ、それでいて、大友良英の音楽になっています。希代のPOP職人、山下毅雄の傑作を現代先鋭Jazzシーンの中心人物、大友良英が見事に料理しています。POPとアヴァンギャルド-相反する二つの要素が矛盾無く、各曲に詰まっている大傑作。ベストトラックを選ぶのは不可能。全曲傑作で、捨て曲なしです。じっくり聴き込んで大友良英の高度なアレンジ能力を堪能するも良し、聴き流して山下毅雄のPOPセンスに感銘を受けるもよし。とにかく買って損はありません。星が５つじゃ足りません。ちなみに大友良英produceさがゆきsingsの中村八大トリビュート『see you in a dream』もオススメです。

ルパン3世、プレイガールや悪魔君のテーマ曲を作った
山下タケオ氏へのオマージュby大友良英。
基本はJazzyだけれど、
気怠い声が心地よい「ガンバのうた」、
パンクに負けぬ「ジャイアントロボ」、
クールで大人の香りプンプン「ルパン3世Ending Theme」
そして破壊的な超音速ノイズからスイートに変化する
「冒険者たちのバラード」 が非常にお勧め。
