イアン・カーティスが自ら人生の幕を閉じる3ヵ月前の80年2月28日、プレストンで行なわれたステージを収録したライヴ盤。PAの調子が悪かったり、イアンの精神が不安定だったりと、ベストなパフォーマンスとはいえない。だが、重く沈んだカオスのようなサウンドの中から浮かび上がる、暗い淵からの叫びにも似たイアンのヴォーカルには、そうした悪条件を超えて迫ってくる激しさがある。決して名作とはいえないが、19年経った今も褪せない感情の発露が、本作を良質なドキュメントにしている。 (飯塚達弘) --- 1999年09月号
