このCDについて

1995年に川口(B)と佐藤(Vo)を中心に結成したバンドの通算3枚目となるアルバム。オルタナ・USジャンク・ヒップホップなどを取り込み噛み砕き無駄をそぎ落としたサウンドが印象的。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

54-71(ごじゅうよんのななじゅういち)というユニークな名前のバンドのサード・アルバム。95年に慶應大学藤沢キャンパスの学生を中心に結成された男性4人組で、バンド名は特に意味はないらしい……。アルバムは、淡々としたドラムのリズムにラップというか英文朗読風なヴォーカルや叫びが入り、突然の乱入という感じでノイジィなギターや変拍子ベースが参加する、インプロヴィゼーション的な構成。脱力系ヒップホップにサイケデリック・サウンドを融合、一度聴いたら耳から離れない個性的なサウンドが楽しめる。 (鈴木勝生) --- 2000年06月号

あきらかに和を意識させる奇妙なフロウ。難解な英詞。音の隙間からあふれ出るすさまじい緊張感。これほどのバンドは古今東西いなかったのでは？
もっと評価されるべき。

突き刺すような衝撃的な音。
和的精神性を感じさせるのは、間の使い方が素晴らしいからなのでしょうか？
今僕の中でヘビーローテーション中です。
