僕にとってのかぐや姫は、物心がついてテレビ番組「俺たちの旅」と共に大人や大学生への憧れを持ち始めた頃の象徴だった。　たしか当時の人気コミック（太刀掛秀子「なっちゃんの初恋」）にもしっかりゲスト出演？していたのをよく覚えている。
もともとこのアルバムは1975年、いつの間にか時代の顔となったかぐや姫が解散を決定した時期に発表したベストアルバムで、当然ながら当時はアナログ盤だった。　現在新作で発売中のものはわからないが、兄貴が持ってたアナログ盤（インナーには3人のサインと拇印つき）も僕が愛用している'93年版CD（米の名エンジニア・バーニー・グランドマンによるリマスターによって、音質がグレードアップされた）も写真集が入ったくらい「3人の記念碑」的色彩が出た“永久保存版”であり、曲数より完成度を求めるのならまずこのアルバムを手にとられる事をお勧めします。

さて、いま改めて聴いてみると四畳半フォークの代表格「神田川」「赤ちょうちん」よりも「君がよければ」「ペテン師」「あの日のこと」「眼をとじて」「今はちがう季節」「アビーロードの街」での“ソフトロック”カラーの曲や、「この秋に」「あてもないけど」「けれど生きている」「妹」のアレンジの素晴らしさが印象的であり、30年経た今もなお彼等の音楽が愛されている理由がわかってもらえるはずだ。
現在10代・20代で、時代やファッションのように流れて消えるばかりじゃない、生き方を考えるための歌をお探しの方にはぜひ聴いて欲しいアルバムです。

レンタルCDのない時代、クラスの誰に聞いても『うちにもあるよ』といわれた『一家に１組ＦＯＲＥＶＥＲ』そんなに売れたアルバムです。『若かったあの頃~』にたまには戻って見ませんか？これがかぐや姫の世界です。

昔、家にあったカートンボックスの2枚組のアルバム。針を落とすと、今まで聞いてきた歌謡曲、流行歌とはまったく違った音楽に出会いびっくりしたのを覚えています。私はかぐや姫の直接の時代ではなく、後追いで聞いた年代です。その中からこうせつのファンになり、今では熱狂的なこうせつファンとなりました。あのFOREVRが家にあったからこそおおげさですが人生に潤いをあたえてもらうことができました。
